ACES 101 reviews the initial research used to identify the original 10 ACES. Some of the latest knowledge about brain development is used to explain how difficult experiences in childhood can change brain development, responses to stress, health consequences and even result in early death. Participants will learn the difference between positive stress, tolerable stress and toxic stress. Vicarious trauma and resiliency will be highlighted along with tools and techniques to use with clients with high ACE scores.
